A TYPICAL WEEK... IN PROVENCE

Each vacation is customized to suit your specific culinary, cultural and activity preferences.  Each can be as independent or group oriented as you would like. However, some ideas for a typical week of Bliss are:

Day 1:  Afternoon arrival, relax with an aperitif or stroll around the village. Cooking lesson or demonstration followed by dinner.

Day 2:  Breakfast followed by a morning visit to a Provencal market, return with our purchases for a ‘taste of the Provencal market’ lunch.
After lunch tour a winery and enjoy a private tasting of some of the wines we have chosen to accompany our dinners this week.
Evening meal preparation, demonstration or lesson followed by dinner.

Day 3 :  After breakfast drive into the painted village of Roussillon. Walk through the Ocher formations, visit the village and its boutiques.

Lunch in a typical Provencal restaurant. Return to the hotel late afternoon to relax or participate as our Chef prepares dinner.

Day 4:   After Breakfast, tour Bonnieux, visit the ruins of a 12 century church of the Knight’s Templar, the Musee Boulangerie, shop in the boutiques, or hike through the cedar forest. A lunchtime cooking demonstration or lesson is also available.

12:30 Al fresco lunch at our hotel

After lunch drive through the Luberon mountains to the nearby village of Lourmarin to tour its Chateau, sightsee in the village or perhaps visit Camus’ grave.

Return in time to change for  dinner at a local restaurant built into a Troglodyte cave that is more than a 1000 years old.

Day 5:  After breakfast tour the famous Abbaye de Senaque with its beautiful lavender fields,

Abbey de Senaque

or visit the Borie Village, a perfectly preserved set of ancient stone structures.

Have lunch and tour the perched village of Gordes on your own.

Return late afternoon and relax or participate in dinner preparation with our Chef.

Day 6:  After Breakfast, walk out of your door to find the weekly Provencal market and return for a light lunch at the hotel. Spend the afternoon hiking up to the ruins of an ancient fort, or watch and participate as our chef and I prepare the farewell feast for our last evening...

Day 7:  Breakfast followed by a late morning checkout.

Approximate cost for the above vacation: $3,500 per person depending on customization.
